Chinnor Hedgehog Highways Project

In May ’23 we launched the Hedgehog Highways project in Thame to help its Hedgehogs thrive. This project has been such a huge success already that we’re now launching it in Chinnor!

We’re so excited and grateful to Ali Gordon Creed & Maureen Dryoff who already kicked off the initial meeting of this project last month.

The initial outcomes of this project include:

1. Recruiting Hedgehog Champions with a long term aim of establishing a Hedgehog Champion on every street in Chinnor

2. Create and deliver a programme of Hedgehog Education with social media posts, emails, Hedgehog Care Training sessions and Hedgehog Home Building sessions with residents, schools and local businesses

For this to be a success we need you!

We need enthusiastic locals who want to be become Hedgehog Champions!

We also need volunteers to join our Chinnor Hedgehog’s Steering Group – a fun group to help us carry out tasks such as:

a. Raising funds and taking time to encourage others to become aware of Hedgehog topics

b. Visiting gardens and advising where hedgehog holes, habitats and feeding stations are best located

c. Making neat new hedgehog holes for neighbours who don’t have the skills

d. Other fun, miscellaneous Hedgehog related tasks as they pop up

The volunteering commitment is only that you do what you can and what you enjoy!
